Wow Singapore - Day 2

As I said in my preview post, we all slept well and were ready for a full day of sight seeing.  It was very difficult to find a place for breakfast and we didn't pick the right one! Let's put it this way, the best part was the peanut butter and toast.  But that's ok, we knew better for the following days.

On our second day, our plan was to follow part of Frommer's suggested itinerary. We took their train straight to China Town.  The train in Bangkok is quite nice and clean, but this one was even nicer and cleaner.  We noted that the trains are Bombardier made and we also noted these cute little seats and signs asking people to leave this seat for people in more need.

I posted this to show you the icon on the far right.  It says `No Durian`.  The Durian is their national fruit and it stinks!  So none allowed on the train.  There is even a sign in our hotel here in Bangkok saying the same - too funny!

It says Bombardier on top
China Town was definitely not the China Town we are used to seeing here or in Canada.  It was very well organized, not very hectic, and clean.  Because of that, I found it quite boring.  It was nice to see to compare to others, but there wasn't much to do there.

This is the year of the Horse so there were horses everywhere

This place had a CRAZY line up. It sells dried pork which is apparently what Chinese people eat at Chinese New Year.  The line up reminded us of the line up we have seen at Schwartz`s in Montreal.

The line up went around the corner and to the back.

This was a Hindu temple in China Town

Then Frommer`s told us to go to Arab Town...and so we went!  We got there around noon so it was pretty quiet.  We didn't stay long.

Cristiano finally decided to pose.  When he wants to take a photo he says "mom, cheese" or sometimes he says it to Mike, "Bab, cheese" - Bab and Babi are his new nick names for Mike, instead of Baba.  He has nicknames for everyone!

We ate at a Moroccan restaurant and this was the only picture I was able to take of our meal
After a long morning of sight seeing, the boys fell asleep, one in the carrier and the other in the stroller, so Michael and I walked back to our hotel. It was not too far and it was a nice walk to see the city.

We passed the Raffles hotel, which is apparently where the Singapore Sling was developed

After nap time, we went on a river boat cruise which allowed us to site see around.  It was nice and relaxing and it gave us an idea of where we should walk the next day.  Cristiano in two days got to go on a plane, a train and now a boat!

It was a long day so we had a nice dinner at a Brazilian restaurant.  We all enjoyed the food, including Cristiano.  We also enjoyed the entertainment, which was playing outside the restaurant.  Cristiano absolutely loved watching the singer and musicians.

Yummy!!  Best Brazilian style restaurant we have been to.

The band playing in the mall

He's loving the show!

We ended our day watching the water and light show.  It was nice but not to be compared with the water show at the Belagio hotel in Las Vegas.

To be continued....
