Our first trip out of Bangkok - Rayong, Thailand

This past weekend was a long weekend in Bangkok and Mike was off on Monday.  We escaped Bangkok and traveled to Rayong, a three hours drive away.  Rayong is a coastal province of Thailand.  We stayed at the Marriott Resort and Spa and spent an amazing three days and two nights. We had a wonderful room, a fabulous view, a perfect pool and finally some sand and salt water for the kids to play in.  It was a perfect getaway and although we already feel we are on vacation it was nice to vacation by the water.

Here are a few highlights.

The route as we were getting closer to our resort

We reached the water

Our resort

View from our room
The lobby - the staff was amazing.  Thai customer service at these resorts is really great.

Being silly upon arrival

Michael taking it all in

His sun in my face look
Cute little elephant towel decor

It took them no time to get digging

My view of the kids and my mom at the infinity pool
Michael's I just woke up from my short nap face

Another I just woke up from my short nap face (short naps was all he was doing at the beach)

These monkeys

Super cute elephant decor
Morning of rain but it did not stop them

Walk in the rain (it was just a drizzle at that point)
The sun came out around 1

Sand castle just like we used to do them in Lebanon

Adriano the mermaid

First time on sand and he couldn't stop laughing and digging his feet

First splash in the waves and he loved it

We were lucky as they had a cute night market with activities for the kids a the resort

Carnival fun

Mom and I selfie attempt

Delicious Pad Thai

Yummy pork on the stick

Fried chicken nuggets

Minus one!

Silliness while watching the movie outdoors

Legs crossed!

Flirting with "Pinky promise" - her name was Pinky but Cristiano called her Pinky Promise

We definitely recommend this getaway for those only coming to visit us in Bangkok and going nowhere else in Thailand. It is an easy trip from Bangkok and would give a nice break from busy Bangkok.
