We made friends!!!!

We took friends for granted back in Canada.  Between family members who are our friends and friends we have made along the way, we are so fortunate to be surrounded by so many wonderful and good people in Canada.  Since our arrival in Bangkok, until recently, we had not had the opportunity to meet people we clicked with, of course other than Tracy and John, who have become family to us here.

But now we are happy to report that we made friends!!!  We have a great group of couples we now hang out with regularly and even travel with whom we met through Cristiano.  They are parents of his friends in his class.  We are a group mixed of Canadian, Thai and Danish.  Having Thai friends means getting tips of where to eat, getting referrals (photographers, fish experts (story to come)), learning Thai customs (including gifting customs which is very useful around this time of year), having someone to Google in Thai for you to find out where to get certain items in Bangkok, having translators, and learning to cook Thai dishes.

Our social life is now back to normal.  We do plenty of activities in groups for the kids and we even get to go out for dinner as adults.

Frankly we spend a lot of time eating!  This was at K Village eating beef because one of the couples had a beef stand there.

At Bonchon for fried chicken and this is the mini crew (ps. I had no idea Mike posed for this picture!)

At gymnastics for the little ones...M has a big crush on Cassie

And finally out just the adults.  We tried a babysitter in our building and hopefully this will mean Mike and I can discover more of Bangkok by night from now on.

They are truly a great bunch of people and we all feel very lucky to have met. The kids get a long and so do the parents.
