Christmas time at the Saghbinis

Every year since we got married, Christmas eve is a very busy night for us.  We have dinner at his parents and exchange presents, then we pack up and go to my parents for another dinner and more presents.  We were spoiled as all we had to do was show up and eat and be merry!

This year, we decided to host Mike's colleagues and some friends.  The kids were very excited to have the party at our house and so were we.  It was definitely more work than our typical Christmas eve but it was worth it.  Thankfully the food turned out very good but most importantly we were in the company of such a great group.  It really was a fun evening.  We even had a Chinese gift exchange for the adults.  It was so much fun. Although the kids were not receiving the gifts, they loved preparing the numbers for us and helping everyone unwrap.  Thankfully, although we are away from family, we felt the love of family on this night and I think all our guests did as well.

No turkey for us this year.  Chicken and roast instead.

The boys participated in the preparations.  They painted these recycled napkin holders.

Michaels stick with Michaels.  M now knows exactly what he wants and can also feed himself.  He is very independent.
Good times

Let the gift exchanging begin

The unwrapping helpers at work

Very curious about what people are getting and who will steal

Patiently waiting for his mommy to open her gift
Very curious and patient to see one very excited recipient of one of two Starbucks cards

But I believe I got the best gift. So very excited about my one-of-a-kind Freitag bag - https://www.freitag.ch/en/ABOUT

PJ time!

Christmas morning was so nice.  Matching PJs, skateboard, costumes, science kits and remote control monster truck were part of the highlights.

I haven't seen him so excited about a toy

Anything vehicle related gets him very excited.

He needed help opening his gift

Even dad got some gifts

Matching PJs

He got the hang of it
