The kids have been wanting to skate since we were in Canada. Before our departure we went skiing, tobogganing, tubing and played plenty in the snow. We really wanted the kids to enjoy winter as much as they could because we knew they would likely not see snow for quite some time. But we didn't have time for skating and promised them we would skate in Bangkok.
In Bangkok there are many skating rinks. There are even hockey teams and figure skaters. One of the skating rinks is in a mall near by so that is where we took the kids for their first staking lessons. Cristiano followed every instruction the instructor gave him and progressed really well. He just needs practice. Adriano on the other hand was fixated on why he needed an instructor, he just wanted to skate alone. I think the instructor also did not pay enough attention to him. He almost gave up but then he said he wanted to skate with the "bonhomme". The "bonhomme" was a penguin that beginner skaters can hold on to while they skate. The instructor was worried it was too advanced for him but we insisted and he did really well. I'm just glad he didn't leave there discouraged and upset. At his next skate lesson, he followed the instructor (a new one that paid more attention to him).
