Touring Bangkok - Happy 10 year Anniversary

This year we celebrated our 10th year anniversary.  Wow!  I can't believe how fast time went.  It certainly has been an amazing 10 years.  Most importantly, the 10 years blessed us with 3 wonderful boys that have stolen our hearts and we have been given the once in a lifetime opportunity to live abroad and have so many cool experiences.  So much to be grateful for.

As you probably read before, we started our celebrations early with a fancy trip to the Maldives, with the kids of course.   Our close friends here, Tracy and Jean, who are like an aunt and uncle to the kids, offered to take the kids if we wanted to take a trip for two days or so to celebrate on the actual day of our anniversary.  But it was a busy time around that time of year for us socially and with the kids school and also we both didn't feel we could leave the kids behind just yet, especially Michael.  So we opted to do something in Bangkok and we decided to keep it low key so that it is relaxing and not rushed.

Mike and I haven't had the chance much to experience Bangkok by day without the kids.  So we dropped off all of them at school and toured a part of the city that we had not been to before.  We had a blast!  Hopefully we can do it again and discover other areas.

This is how we roll - scooter ride!  It's the only way Mike agrees to travel around town.  We are guaranteed to get to everywhere we want to go because we will never get stuck in Bangkok traffic.

Our first stop was a rooftop restaurant with a wonderful view of the river and in this picture we can even see our area in the background.

Unfortunately the restaurant didn't serve coffee or breakfast but fortunately they had ice cream.  We enjoyed our favourite ice cream at 10 a.m. in the morning for breakfast, something we would never do with the kids!

All kinds of coloured vespas.  The vespas zip around in this area making deliveries.  It's quite something.

After a lot of walking and getting lost we finally made it to the street we absolutely wanted to see.

It did not disappoint.

Especially being able to see more of Alex Face's art.  He is one of our favourite street artists.

It was all in all a wonderful day.

We ended back at the rooftop restaurant and as we had to leave to pick up the kids from the other end of town it started to pour...remember we are on scooter.  It was quite the experience!
